What is Botox?

Botox is a natural, purified protein administered in a quick, simple, non-surgical procedure that temporarily relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, resulting in a smooth, rejuvenated appearance.

Benefits of Botox and the Procedure

Botox is used to minimize the appearance of frown lines between the eyes, forehead lines, crow's feet, nasal lines, smile lines, smokers' lip lines and neck lines.

It involves tiny injections of Botox to precise wrinkle-causing muscles. The treatment is simple and quick (usually about 10-15mins) with no downtime, and many patients often have it done on their lunch breaks.

Discomfort is very minimal and brief; most patients compare the sensation to an insect bite. No sedation or local anaesthetic is required, and you will be able to drive and engage in all of your usual daily activities (even put on your makeup) immediately after your injections.

Is Botox Safe?

Botox is very safe and usually have no or little side effects. The most common side effect resulting from Botox treatments is occasional bruising in the treated areas, which is temporary and can be easily covered with cosmetic concealers.

In cosmetic use, Botox has been widely tested and used safely for more than 10 years, and has quickly become the most popular non-surgical, aesthetic procedures in the United Kingdom today.

How Long Does Botox Last?

Visible effects can take place within 3-5 days, and full effect is seen in 7-10 days. The effects of Botox treatments usually last for 5-6 months, depending on individual. When the lines start to reappear, simply repeat the same treatment to maintain the desired outcome.

Studies have shown that with repeat Botox treatments, the effects can last longer, so less frequent treatment will be required in the future.

Dermal Fillers

As a result of age, sun damage, worry, gravity and other environmental factors, our facial skin begins to develop lines and wrinkles. Whilst this is a manifestation of aging of the skin and a reduction in the collagen and elastic framework of the skin it is possible to smooth out folds and wrinkles using dermal fillers to give a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are substances/gels injected beneath the skin’s surface to smooth wrinkles and add volume. The products are composed of stabilized hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in the cells of the skin. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the wrinkle treated. It is by no means permanent and is totally biodegradable.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can help to “fill in” facial indentations, add volume to your skin, smooth unwanted facial wrinkles and lines and help skin regain its youthful look in areas as follows.

The Procedure

A dermal filler procedure requires no anaesthetic as Juvederm Ultra contains local anaesthetic.

It is simple and straight-forward, involving a few tiny injections directly into the skin, and takes only 30 minutes. Make-up can be applied immediately after the procedure and you can go straight back to work.

Result can be seen immediately, and lasts from 9 months to about a year. Optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments.

The procedure varies from person to person depending on your requirements and the severity of the wrinkles that are being treated, in addition to the particular dermal filler being administered.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

Yes. We use only natural products, thus eliminating the risk of eliciting allergic reactions. Even people with food sensitivities can receive these fillers safely. The products we use have been used as an injectable beauty treatment for more than two decades with an excellent safety record.
